The Blackmagic Design HyperDeck Studio HD Mini is a broadcast deck in a Teranex Mini sized chassis — one third of a rack unit wide, so three fit side by side in a single rack unit on a Teranex Mini Rack Shelf. It records and plays broadcast codecs to ordinary SD cards, with proper timecode, reference and RS-422 deck control.

Connections
1 x SDI input and 1 x SDI output at 270Mb, 1.5G or 3G, plus 1 x HDMI output for monitoring. Timecode in and out on BNC. Reference in and out on BNC accepting Tri-Sync or Black Burst. 1 x RS-422 remote input for deck control from an editing system or automation.

Recording
SD, HD and 2K DCI up to 1080p60, 4:2:2 YUV 10-bit, REC 601, 709 and 2020 with HDR support including HLG and ST2084. Codecs: ProRes 422 HQ, 422, LT and Proxy; DNxHD 220x, 145 and 45 in both QuickTime and MXF; and H.264 High, Medium and Low.

Media
2 x SD card slots supporting UHS-I and UHS-II cards, formatted ExFAT or HFS+, plus a USB-C 3.0 expansion port for recording direct to an external disk. Recording rolls over from one card to the next, so long-form capture continues uninterrupted.

Control and monitoring
Eight transport buttons with a search dial and a 2.2 inch colour LCD on the front panel. Remote control via RS-422, SDI start/stop, or the Blackmagic HyperDeck Ethernet Protocol over 1Gb/s Ethernet. Files can be uploaded remotely over FTP — useful for news and sports workflows where the deck is not where the editor is.

Audio
16 channels of embedded SDI audio in and out, 8 channels of embedded HDMI audio out.

Power
Internal 100 to 240V AC supply plus a locking 5.5mm barrel 12V DC input for redundancy or battery operation. 50W maximum. One year limited manufacturer's warranty.
