The Blackmagic Design ATEM SDI Extreme ISO is the largest switcher in the ATEM SDI range. It has everything the ATEM SDI Pro ISO offers, but with eight SDI inputs instead of four and four SDI outputs instead of one — and it records nine separate video streams rather than five.

ISO recording of every input
Records all 8 SDI inputs as separate clean H.264 .mp4 files up to 70Mb/s with AAC audio, plus the program output — nine streams in total, to an external USB-C drive. Ten stereo audio inputs are captured as separate 24-bit 48kHz .wav files. The live switch is written as a DaVinci Resolve .drp project, so your cuts, transitions and keys reopen as an editable timeline for the post edit.

Inputs and outputs
8 x 3G-SDI inputs, 10-bit HD, two channels of embedded audio each, with re-sync and standards conversion on every input. 4 x SDI program outputs with 4 aux outputs. 2 x 3.5mm stereo mini jack audio inputs with mic plug-in power and up to 8 frames of delay, plus a 3.5mm output. 2 x USB-C 3.1 Gen 1 and 10/100/1000 BaseT Ethernet.

Streaming
Direct RTMP and SRT streaming over Ethernet, or share a computer's internet connection over USB-C. Blackmagic Cloud Stream Router supported. USB-C digital audio output integrates with Fairlight Live.

Production features
4 upstream keyers, 2 downstream keyers, up to 4 advanced chroma keyers, up to 4 linear and luma keyers, 9 total layers, 5 pattern generators, 2 colour generators and 2 DVEs with borders and drop shadow. Two media players with fill and key from a 20-still pool. Multiview configurable to 16, 13, 10, 7 or 4 up including program, preview, all eight inputs, SuperSource, clean feed, media player and status.

Audio
Eleven input by two channel mixer with on/off/AFV per channel, level and peak metering, 6-band parametric EQ, compressor, gate, limiter and master gain.

Formats
Inputs accept 720p50/59.94/60, 1080p23.98 to 60 and 1080i50/59.94/60. Output and streaming standards 1080p23.98 to 60. 4:2:2 YUV, 10-bit, Rec 709. HD only.
